All American Custom Pool Tables are supplied with high quality solid leather pockets
from Hood Leather Products. Hood Leather is the last remaining American source
of billiard pockets and they stand head and shoulders above the imported pockets
that now dominate the American market. The basic choice to be made is between
"fringe" for that old fashioned antique look, and shield for a cleaner
more contemporary look. Our customers prefer shield over fringe by a margin of
about 8:2. These pockets come in 16 different leather colors, 9 dyed in uniform
solid colors and 7 premium "Avanzato" leathers that specially dyed for
a more natural look. Another choice in standard shields is between the weave textured
shield and the plain shield (see the photos below). Our standard fringe pockets
come in the same leather colors and a total of 17 solid rayon fringe colors. You
can choose from among these pocket options by visiting the Hood Leather web site
although the photos at that site are of poor quality and there are no photos of
shield pockets. Most of our customers allow us to recommend leather and fringe
colors that compliment their finish and cloth selections. Customers usually want
a pocket color that blends with the finish of the pool table, but if the cloth
color is substantially lighter or darker than the finish, we can also suggest
a pocket color that picks up the tone of the cloth and contrasts with the finish.  plain

Custom
Pockets Custom pockets can dramatically affect the overall appearance
of your pool table. For a special look we suggest that you consider selecting
custom pockets. Custom pockets are available for an additional charge of $250. Hood
Leather pockets can be customized by placing a cloth or suede inlay in the shield
that matches or complements the color of your cloth, or you can choose to have
one of several decoratative patterns embossed into the leather shield. If you
prefer a fringe style you can select multicolored mingled fringes and further
ornament the pocket with tied tassels and a swag. You can browse these options
